About Tongye Liu

I design complex workflows and the systems that help teams keep using them.

My work sits where business rules, permissions, financial logic and daily user behaviour meet.

I'm a product designer in London and the sole designer for Proteus, an enterprise B2B SaaS platform at Xergy Group. I own product design from discovery through delivery, often turning loose operational rules into structures the team can actually build on.

How I Work

I treat workflows as systems, not isolated screens.

01 System

Start with the operating logic

I turn offline operations built around spreadsheets and email into clear product workflows, then keep improving them through live use.

02 Product

Work past the edges of the brief

With no dedicated PM on the team, my role stretches into product framing, workflow definition and information architecture. I write the requirements about as often as I design against them.

03 Handover

Make the design easy to find later

Accessible patterns, reusable components and well organised Figma files mean analysts, developers and customer teams can find the right design context without depending on memory or a single walkthrough.

Recently

AI has become part of my design workflow.

I use AI as a thinking partner when requirements are messy: structuring information, testing copy and pressure testing design rationale. It gets me through early product thinking faster. The judgement stays mine.
